Soft Day in Cavan

We are coming into the season of mists,
grey skies,
and rain running down the windows.
This is my view as I look out on the woods that surround my house.
But this aspect is not as grim as it may appear.
The rain brings with it a cleansing,
And the smell of the earth in it’s aftermath reminds me
Of abundance, and fruitfulness, and the potential waiting to shoot forth when spring comes round again.
