Ballyrogan

Its always wonderful to chat with friends, and this conversation was a very special one.

Following a chat during a zoom call with other lovely members of the Biscuit Factory the effervescent Sarah Eva Manson invited me to come and chat to her wonderful family for the Irish Art Podcast.

Sarah, her mum Attracta and dad Andrew are a family of artists who live in Ballyrogan County Wicklow.

It was such a joy to engage with this warm and friendly family for a conversation about what it’s like to be an emerging artist in Ireland. Not only was I free to chat and talk about how I came to my role as an artist in my 60’s, but I was delighted to learn so much from a family that have been immersed in the art world, literally, for generations. In many ways our journey into exploring visual art is so far removed, but coming together produced a conversation that was both delightful and very informative. I learned so much as Sarah and her family were most generous in sharing their knowledge and experience with me as we spoke.

Do pop over to the Ballyrogan website to give Part 1 and Part 2 a listen, and while you are at it why not sign up for their newsletter to ensure you don’t miss the next episode .
